From input to zero conflicts
Class, Staff, Room, Subject, Calendar, and print-ready Traditional - all six views read the same underlying schedule, so a change in one is a change in all of them. Generated in seconds, always conflict-free.
Give schedU your staff, subjects and sections, and it builds a complete, balanced timetable in about a second - by applying the rules a timetable in-charge applies, not by guessing. Open any lesson and Why here? shows its whole week: each period it could move to or swap into, and for the rest the exact reason it cannot (who is teaching elsewhere, which room is taken). Regenerating gives the same answer twice.
Pin any lesson and it stays on its day and period through every rebuild. Ask for other correct arrangements of the same plan and compare them side by side. Change the plan and regenerate: lessons stay where they are when they still fit, so a small change moves a few lessons, not the week.
Staff and room double-bookings are checked by real time, so classes on different bells are compared correctly. Every edit is checked as you make it, and nothing you publish has a clash nobody was told about.
AND groups split classes into parallel groups (Hindi AND Odia) pooled across sections, each with its own staff member, room and headcount. An OR slot runs one of its subjects for the whole class, as the syllabus needs, and the staff member can take it on the day.
Juniors and seniors can start, break and finish at different times: staggered lunches, a short Saturday, early dispersal. Every period keeps its real time through the timetable, the calendar and the exports.
Keep I-V and VI-X as separate schedules, both live. Generating one keeps clear of the staff and rooms the other uses, and the calendar, corridor board and reports read them together.
Teaching hours, staff load and pupil-teacher ratio are checked against published norms before you generate. They are shown for you to decide on, never applied silently.
Home rooms, labs, halls and outdoor grounds. Outdoor venues are shared up to their capacity, a group gets a room big enough for it, and no indoor room is booked twice.
Tell schedU when a subject may be taught: not in the first period, not in the last, not either, the first half of the day or the second. The rule is read on each class’s own bell, so juniors who go home after Period 6 have Period 6 as their last, and the engine keeps it in every move it makes. If a rule leaves a lesson nowhere to go, the lesson is still placed and named, for you to decide.
Each teacher’s lessons come out even across the week: on our test schools, teachers with one day three or more lessons heavier than another fell from 9% to under 1%. Set the most lessons in a row a teacher may have, or, for a college whose staff leave when their lessons end, keep each teacher’s lessons together with as few free periods between them as the week allows.
Staff mark themselves unavailable from their own login, straight away or, if you prefer, for an administrator to approve first. Cover goes to someone free at that time in every live schedule, who knows the subject or the class, with the least cover taken this week and over the last month, and never past their weekly limit. Each choice shows why, and one click assigns it. Or ask the free colleagues: each is emailed, and the first to accept on their own phone takes it.
Join the class to one running at the same time, its teacher taking both. Set a study period, or let the class go free, on purpose rather than by default. Or trade the lesson with another of the class’s, later the same day or later in the week when the teacher is back, so both lessons still happen and nobody covers. Away for a week? schedU finds the one person who can take most of it.
